Just wanted to send you a few photos of the most beautiful Vizsla in Boston.  It was one year ago this past weekend that you handed her over to me.  I had no idea then how this dog would change my life. All my best to you, Lisa, and your staff....Elaina (Boston, MA)

We brought home one of your Viszla puppies in January, and I thought you would like to see how our little girl Zoe is growing up. Besides being beautiful, she has a wonderful personality. Everyone who meets her thinks she is the best puppy in the world! We started socializing Zoe right away with lots of people and other dogs, so she is very friendly. Her best friend is a Borzoi named Sadie, who is twice Zoe’s size! They love to run together off-leash on a trail near our house. Zoe also loves to get in the car and go places with us. Sometimes my husband takes her to the office where she entertains everyone. Zoe was housebroken in just a few days and never peed in the house once. In fact after only about 8 weeks we found we didn’t have to crate her when we left her in the house. She is very smart!

Your generosity has added a whole new level of fulfillment to our lives.  Lola is a wonderful dog -- filled with spirit and love for us and for the world around her.  She is absolutely the sweetest, most gentle, and most adaptable dog I have ever come across.  We live in the city and she is routinely exposed to different sounds, people, and experiences.  Whether it be the hand of a little toddler speedily moving towards her unannounced, another dog jumping at her, or a stranger transfixed by her beauty, she is always calm and friendly.

I would like to share how much you blessed our lives with Lola by sharing our story with other folks.  Prior to turning to Southside Dogs, we had a horrible experience trying to purchase a vizsla puppy.  Moments after arriving home with our new puppy, our dog began having seizures.  At first, I thought perhaps her running around the house, barking, and bumping into walls was a normal new puppy behavior.  However, as her condition worsened, it became clear to me that our puppy was not normal.  Over five seizures later at the animal hospital, we returned our dog.  I had pretty near lost confidence in the idea of owning a dog.  However, due to a referral from a good friend of mine who owns a lovely Southside vizsla, Calle, I decided I should get in touch with Frank.

After speaking with Frank, I learned that he did not have any new litters of vizslas available, but, due to my experience, he was willing to consider giving up one of the puppies from a past litter that he had been saving for himself.  My boyfriend and I drove all the way out to New York that weekend to meet the puppy.  She was so beautiful and so sweet!  I could hardly believe it.  I was still nervous about purchasing a puppy, but the staff of Southside Dogs was extremely supportive, kind, and understanding.  They helped me feel comfortable about owning a puppy again and allowed me to realize my dream of owning a vizsla.

Now, Lola, Bryan, and I spend as much time taking walks in the woods around Pittsburgh as we can.  Lola loves it when we provide her with the opportunity to walk by our sides without the leash and we love watching her run in the woods, climb up little hills, and point at birds.  What we love most though is that she always will stop, look back, and, if we are too far away, she'll wait for us patiently.  We are extremely lucky to have Lola in our family and I am so happy that the kind folk at Southside Dogs allowed us to become dog owners....

I just wanted to write and give you a quick update on Goliath, our Vizsla that we purchased from you almost 3 years ago. He is the most beautiful, loyal dog that a family could ask for. He is so gentle with our children. At night he goes to bed with my son, and stays there with him until he gets up in the morning. We are so blessed to have him in our family! Attached is the picture that I included on our family Christmas card. Happy Holidays....Wendy (Hornell, NY)

We have one of Youshi and Online Controversy’s male Vizsla pups, born Jan.23, 2005. His name is Southside Rocco Onpoint (Rocco). My parents have one of his brothers, named Charles. We are so incredibly happy with them, I can’t even tell you. We are starting to think about adding another Vizsla to our family, and we’re thinking about a year from now, or next Christmas would be a good time. I’m wondering if you’re planning any future litters that would be ready to go about that time, and also if Youshi is still able to be the sire. We would love the same bloodline because we just think that Rocco and Charles are about as close to perfect as they could be. If I remember correctly, Youshi is probably about 9-10 yrs. old? So I don’t know if such a thing is even possible…even if we go with a completely different bloodline, we know we want one from you.

Rocco is the best family dog (we have two boys ages 6 and 2 ½) and so is his brother, Charles. Rocco is excellent in the field, and has been going out to Iowa to pheasant hunt since he was 9 mos. old, at least twice a year. He has an enormous amount of energy, but as soon as he walks in the door he is nothing but a gentle, loving and extremely obedient boy. Our kids actually call him their brother because they just adore him, and he goes everywhere they go and keeps a very close watch at all times to make sure they’re fine. We are very much an outdoor family, and he does get a lot of exercise. I’ve attached a couple pictures so you can see what he looks like. He is really quite big- he’s tipping the scales at 70 lbs of solid muscle, but he doesn’t realize how big he is. If there’s a lap to be sitting on, he’s there, whether it be one of us, one of the kids, or a complete stranger whom he’s never met before. He also is great with our cat and is very friendly with the neighbor’s horses.

Thanks for getting back to us, and we look forward to hearing about what you might have for us in the future....Kate (Holland, MI)

These are the most recent photos of Hunter our GSP - he is almost 6 months old. We purchased Hunter from Southside in August. He is a puppy from Bella and Buddy's litter born July 1st, 2007.

We were looking for a dog for my father for his birthday. He always loved German Shorthaired Pointers and we could not think of a better gift for him. We surprised him on his birthday with Hunter and he instantly loved him - there are few times I have seen my father cry and he actually cried when we handed him his puppy. Attached are photos of him today at almost 6 months old, and as you can see, he is beautiful. I remembered when we contacted you initially regarding a puppy you told us people would stop us on the street to tell us how beautiful our dog was - and I have to say - you were right. When we walk Hunter with our other dogs - people always tell us that that he is beautiful. They want to know the breed and where we got him. Makes me sad for our two other dogs. In fact, just the other day while walking Hunter - someone riding in their car rolled down their window to tell me how beautiful he was - lets hope this does not go to his head.
He is a wonderful addition to our family, smart, handsome, loads of energy, loves children, gets along great with our other dogs, very friendly and as you can see he has great posture.

Thank you for everything....Monika and Jim (Huntington, NY)

Just an update on Southside Jake. He is the most amazing dog we have ever had. He is so smart (and sometimes stubborn!). He has a great disposition, when you talk to him he answers with a groan as if he is talking back to you. He is 20 weeks old and weighs 34 lbs. You were right, the Royal Canin food is the best. As you can see in the attached pictures, he is a beautiful specimen! We thank you for Jake everyday and could not be any happier with him. He is a wonderful addition to our family. Everywhere we go people stop and play with Jake and ask where we got him and of course we tell them about you and Southside Dogs. Hope all is well and I will update you on Jake frequently....Karin & Tim (Hillsdale, NY)

We love Landry! She is able to come when called, fetch, sit, and give her paw already. She loves to play and especially loves to cuddle up on my lap on the floor. She also loves to eat every rock and stick that she can find. I take it out of her mouth and tell her to “leave it” and “no”. My question is there anything I am missing in teaching her how to stop? It gets to a point that is all she wants to do in the backyard. She fetches great in the house. As for outside, she stops fetching and sniffs for the sticks and quickly eats them. The yard is clean, but she tends to find them and the acorns too. She is better than the squirrels! I’ve taken her for brisk walks and am now incorporating a light jog to keep her busy and not have her stop for the rocks and sticks.
Attached are some pictures of her. I scanned them because I used my 35 mm. They are better in person. She is beautiful and of course I get stopped by people to meet her. She loves other dogs too – wants to play. I will try to take some pictures with the digital and send them to you.Hope all is well. Thanks for everything....Eileen

Hi Frank!!!!!! Long time no type! we have been so busy with our new family member, we can't believe she is 5 months old! And yes....we did have a birthday party!!! As you can see from her earlier pictures (the latest are sitting in my camera and as soon as I can I will send some of those too!) Lily has become an integral member of the Morrison Family!!! She is just the best, the kids adore her and let's face it I consider her my third child......I know to non-dog owners this sounds crazy but hey that's what owning a dog is all about! She is training very easily on almost everything but only for her momma! It's hysterical and Gregg thinks its funny too..most of the time ;-) She listens to the kids better than she does Daddy! I rarely have to tell her anything twice and I am continually amazed at her obedience and her quick response to do so! She is spectacular to watch outdoors, she is just something. Her beauty and grace can only be bettered by her crazy antics and wild runs with the children. She just visited her very own vacation spot in the Adirondacks this past week for the first time. We have a lakehouse and she just couldn't wait to get into that water. The look on her face was hysterical when she realized how cold it still was! But go figure she tried again a couple minutes later much to her chagrin that the water temp had still not warmed! She absolutely loved running through the woods, smelling all the critters, and had long dream filled naps to prove just how much. Thanks so much for helping us out with this baby. She at 5 months is already 37 pounds! Her definition is perfect, her coat gleaming, and a resounding "picture of health" from our vet. We will keep you posted! Sincerely....The Morrison Family (Williamsville, NY)

Hi Everyone, Here are some pictures of our new puppy. She is an 8 week old Rhodesian Ridgeback. We purchased her from Southside Dogs, upstate NY. She only home 2 days and is great. Thank you so much Frank (the AKC Breeder) we could not have asked for a more perfect puppy. She not having any "accidents" and lets us know by wining that she has to go out. Today when I took her her she did #1 but not #2 when I went to bring her in she refused and was pulling away, I let her walk for about 2 more minutes and she went #2 and then let me take her in, unbelievable, she is very smart. But then again Frank was right. What a great choice of breeders. Anyone interested in a Ridgeback, contact this gentleman, I highly recommend it, what a positive experience. Thanks again Frank, we will definitely keep in touch. Say thanks to Dean and Lisa, they too are the best.....Colleen and Vinnie (Smithtown, NY)

Thought that we would share our recent pictures of Simba. She the most beautiful and smart puppy we ever saw. She has been a great addition to our family, giving us so much pleasure and love. She is totally toilet trained and knows how to sit and stay on command. Loves her toys especially the stuffed ones that she "fights" with which is a riot. Of course she always wins. She is also fearless, she is not the least bit afraid of any dogs even the very large ones. We cannot say enough about her. Thank you again for enriching our lives with such a gift. We will keep you updated on her progress, we love to see her grow.... Colleen and Vinnie (Smithtown, NY)

Just wanted to update you on Simba's progress. She is growing daily, right before our eyes. We take her to puppy classes and she plays numerous times a week with the dogs in the neighborhood. This weekend we took her on her first "fishing trip". We were on the boat about 5 hours and she really seemed to enjoy it, very calm and interested in everything. She did of course take a nap in the cabin for awhile. Very spoiled puppy this one. I will send along more pictures in another email since this one will only hold a few. Hope all is well with you. We plan to visit very soon. And yes we will bring the champagne and a snack.Love to All....Colleen and Vinnie (Smithtown, NY)

Here are some pictures of him when he was a baby (about 8 weeks old), I figured you can post them on your site since he looks so cute, haha. I will send you some recent ones when I get some time. Thanks again. :).....Love, Natalie (Philadelphia, PA)

Hey Frank !! I'm sorry that you haven't heard from us since we got the puppy. It's been busy with school things going on, plus the puppy (Max) does keep me busy. He is doing great though. Getting big, and he's a punk. He loves to cuddle, he gets along great with my other dog, and he is very smart. Mel needs to download a recent picture of him so I can send it to you. He's growing soooo fast. One of my neighbors that walks everyday says she can see him getting bigger from one day to the next. He can now see out the front door which was a challenge for him before. He would (and still does if he needs to) stand on his back legs with his front legs on my other dogs back so that he could see what was going on outside. It's pretty funny to see it. He is absolutely a beautiful dog. Thanks for providing us with such an amazing dog. I promise to send a picture soon....Cheryl, Mel, Ashley & Emily (Walden, NY)

Hi Frank, It's been about a year and a half since we picked up our GSP pup, Griffin, (11/13/06 litter) and we wanted to let you know that he's doing well! We adore him. We wanted a pointer, in part, to keep us active, and he sure does. We love that we can rollerblade with him, and he runs right along side our bikes. We didn't expect him to be such a swimmer, but of the 4 or so hours we were on the lake yesterday, he swam for about 3 of them! He loves the boat and loves the water, but most of all he loves to cuddle. We love that he's able to go where we go, and at the end of the day he's mush with us on the couch. Griffin was an early arrival for us because we were anticipating the April litter that year, but we can't imagine a more perfect pup for us. Thanks for thinking of us for him!....Jaime and Randy (Malta, NY)

You told us 5 months later we would fall in love and Bailys now 11 months. I just wanted to thank you for giving us the opportunity to take home the most precious puppy the world has ever seen. If you remember Baily he's now about 90 lbs and not overweight! Very funny but the vet says he's very healthy just big for his breed. I was there with my girlfriend around christmas time this past year. The young couple I guess. My mother recently passed away and Baily has been almost the only thing that brings joy to my life through this though time. A very smart and a very playful personality, loves to swim and when we bring him out on the boat he's always a crowd pleaser. Well again I wanted to say thank you and I'm glad you allowed us to take him home. He has great parents! You are a great person and you breed great dogs. I attached a picture for you to see how he's grown up. Sincerely....Jason (Malta, NY)
